Following the success of last year’s campaign, St.George are once again rolling out their grassroots Footy Grants program in 2021. Footy Grants provides cash funding to community sports clubs and individuals to help make their footy dreams come true. After a difficult 2020 where financial support for local sport became a critical issue, the decision was made to help more people in more communities than ever before, by boosting the program’s funding to $250,000. The grants program will support everyone from players to volunteers, coaches to administrators, all to help community sport thrive.
This year’s promotional campaign features previous St.George Footy Grants winners who have benefited from the program, such as the Blue Mountain Kangaroos. The Kangas are a passionate junior footy club who desperately needed funding to help them kit out their team and buy a new scoreboard.

The campaign spans four different footy codes and leverages the bank’s major sports partnerships: The AFL’s GWS GIANTS, NRL St George Illawarra Dragons, Super Rugby’s Queensland Reds and Brisbane City FC. For each code and partner, tailored call-to-action messaging has been created including videos, digital assets and in-stadia comms.
