Westpac and Budgy Smuggler have joined forces to promote water safety and support the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service through the launch of their new ‘Safe As’ swimwear campaign. This partnership aims to combine iconic Australian symbols to raise awareness about lifesaving efforts and encourage safety during summer. The campaign, which aligns with Westpac’s ongoing commitment to community wellbeing, showcases a limited-edition range of swimwear, with all proceeds going toward supporting the rescue helicopter service’s vital operations.
The campaign was launched on the first week of summer at North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club with an event that featured a private media session followed by a public activation. Attendees enjoyed a beachside atmosphere, complete with themed photo opportunities, catering, and the chance for the Bondi Salties swimmers to register for a free pair of Budgy Smugglers.
A highlight of the day was the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter’s dramatic visit to Bondi, where a mock rescue showcased the team wearing the new swimwear, emphasizing the importance of water safety.
The event brought together NRL and NRLW stars Millie Elliott and Jarome Luai, local North Bondi Nippers, and speakers such as Annabel Fribence, Westpac’s Chief Brand & Marketing Officer, and Shane Daw, General Manager of the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service. The Today Show broadcast live weather crosses throughout the morning, amplifying the campaign’s reach.
As the summer unfolds, Westpac encourages everyone to stay safe around water while supporting the rescue helicopter service by purchasing from the ‘Safe As’ swimwear range, available online and in stores.
This event marked the completion of Westpac’s Metro Landings across most states to educate students and communities and highlighted the continued support for the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service. The ‘Safe As’ swimwear range is available now whilst stocks last, with all proceeds benefiting the service’s life-saving operations.
Stay safe this summer and contribute to a worthy cause!
