McDonald’s is a business that has deep roots in the community. As an employer to over 100,000 people in Australia, McDonald’s empower their employees through training and education as soon as they begin, providing a great pathway for teens and young adults to chase their professional dreams.
As a long-term supporter of sport with multiple partnerships, McDonald’s had the opportunity to support teens and young adults with sporting dreams as well, and Gemba identified this.
So together with McDonalds NSW/ACT we created ‘Macca’s Community Grants’, a community support program that utilised their partnerships with A-League clubs and Cricket NSW to provide opportunities and pathways for young athletes with big ambitions.
The program promises to fast-track the sporting dreams of participants, focusing on three key areas of support: funding, mentoring with sports stars and a chance for a paid job at Macca’s.
To promote the program, we leveraged the A-League and Cricket NSW stars in a campaign called ‘Fastrack your Sporting Dreams’. We created 30’ Ambassador hero videos for each of the 6 clubs which were released on their social channels and accompanied this with a digital and in stadium comms to drive awareness of this fantastic opportunity.
