For the Swans coaching staff, it’s laser focused: Get your hand off your mobile phone while driving. That means no sneaky DM’s, no checking the scores and definitely no scrolling through Insta when you’re behind the wheel. When you’re driving, stick your phone in the glovebox… it’s not worth it!
With player access restricted due to Covid-19, this year’s ‘Get Your Hand Off it’ social campaign was cleverly crafted to deliver an important road safety message with a twist.
Inspired by ‘A Bad Lip Reading’ the campaign uses existing Swans match and training footage to piece together a series of irreverent road safety gameplan messages starring Swans coaches and players.
Each episode highlighted a different driving behaviour and was accompanied by a series of interactive ‘Get Your Hand Off It Gameplan Trivia’ Instagram stories.
The campaign went live across Swans social channels in the lead up to finals, with each video receiving strong completion rates and positive engagement among fans.
