Gemba’s annual employee conference – GEMBACON18 – has just wrapped for another year! The event saw over 50 staff from across our offices enjoy three days of celebration, collaboration and learning.

Our action packed agenda had a variety of highlights including our annual “Dojo Day” where we focus on customised learning and development for all employees. We also announced the winners of our annual Dojo Explore Award which was created to recognise and reward Gemba team members who have made outstanding contributions to the business. This year we raised the stakes to three winners instead of two and in February 2019 Bella Rechter, Zoe Hartas and Dave Everitt will all be attending the NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina!

As well as hearing from our own teams, we were also fortunate enough to have John Harnden AM, Chairman of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, as our guest speaker, who shared his unique insights on sport and entertainment. We also devoted time to focusing on our own mindfulness with a customised session on the positive impact of meditation.

And finally, in true Gemba spirit we held our very own “Gemba World Cup” where “Gem-Germany” beat “Gem-France” in a hotly contested five-a-side final
