Transport for NSW has used its partnership with Cricket NSW to promote the ‘What’s Your Plan B?’ campaign for many years now, encouraging drivers to make alternative arrangements to get home after they’ve been drinking. This year Gemba takes it up a level with some retro gaming fun in a campaign titled ‘Plan A vs Plan B’.

On & off the field, players are faced with decisions that impact on their lives everyday – so we put our players’ decision-making skills to the test using an old school arcade game.

The game has players responding to a series of rapid-fire ‘Plan A or Plan B’ options, delivered through a retro arcade machine (decked out with 8-bit graphics, nostalgic gaming sounds and a cricket ball as it’s joystick!). The ‘this or that’ options start using humour so fans can get to know the players (Pokie Bowl or Fast Bowl? Richie Benaud or Jay Lenno? Short Ball or a Yorker?), but quickly change to reflect the serious nature of making decisions on the road. When it comes to drink driving it’s very clear there is only one correct choice: have a Plan B, if your drinking, don’t drive. The campaign provides practical solutions for cricket fans to plan ahead to get home safely when heading out for a few drinks.

The content features cricket stars from Sydney Thunder & Sixers including Daniel Sams, Alex Ross, Matt Gilkes, Ben Dwarshuis, Jackson Bird and Hayden Kerr.

Accompanying the content, Gemba also produced in-stadia LEDS’, stadium activations as well as assets for digital and social. The campaign will be live for BBL season and will be live across Sydney Thunder, Sydney Sixers and NSW Blues social channels and website.
