Three days, three offices, all in one location! Gemba’s annual employee conference has wrapped and this year it was all about YOU! And by ‘you’ we mean our people. It’s why we called it YOUCON19!

We focused on the achievements of our people, their goals and their future with a masterclass hosted by our very own Kate Richardson, with the support of our superstar People and Culture team.

We opened up, we shared, we collaborated and at the end of it all we came out better human beings, with a clear direction of what comes next for us in our careers and in life.

We kicked off the opening night with an extravagant dinner, where we put on our finest outfits, gathered around the longest dining table in human history and talked. About life, about work, about anything and everything.

As is tradition, Rob Mills took the stage and made a few exciting announcements. Anthony Maginness and Amelia Faulkner won the 2019 Gemba Dojo Award and will be heading to England and Germany where they’ll deep dive into European football. We also announced five huge promotions to Nathan Davoli, Sean Jones, Elizabeth Kerr, Anthony Maginness and Amelia Faulkner.

And finally, it wouldn’t be a Gemba conference without a Gemba surprise! This year we wound back the clock and went full disco… 70s disco to be exact. With an entire roller rink to ourselves, we may not have been the most skilled group of skaters, but we were certainly the best dressed.
